Communitea

Yesterday was a first for me....a ladies tea. I don't even make tea, let alone drink tea, but it was fun! Our church has a ladies tea every year and I had not been to one yet. Since we are planning to go to Romania in January I want to fit everything in that I have not been able to do so far. The theme was community. A lady in the church shared how community had impacted her life during her battle with cancer. My mind took me back to one week ago today. Last Sunday was Children's Ministry Appreciation Sunday. On this day we recognize all of the teachers and volunteers who help disciple the children of our church. Steve did a video that was played during the service and I cried through the entire thing! I was crying for a few reasons. 1. It is always touching to see my husband share his heart. The words he spoke held such weight and truth of how we feel towards children and family in general and even more so for those we have served over the last four years.
2. Steve shared the core values of Fellowship's Children's Ministry: love, learn, launch as we disciple the next generation. He went into more detail of what those mean and what they do for the children and the parents who walk through those halls each week. I got all emotional just picturing so many of these children who are now three years old and I cared for them in the nursery since they were six weeks old! It is such a priceless gift to see a child grow and to love on them and teach them who God is. I get so excited imagining what God is going to do in and through them in the future! And to know that I got to plant some seeds in there....I am so thankful!
3. There were also video clips showing teachers and volunteers playing and teaching so many children. I was so moved to see the body of Christ at work! It was so nice to sit back and see what is happening each Sunday, because when you are in the middle of it you easily forget all the other parts and just focus on yours. I was in awe of the servant hearts of so many of our friends at Fellowship! I love seeing how there are so many parts of the body of Christ and big things can happen when we all work together. So thank you to all the volunteers and teachers and parents. Thank you God for where you have placed us and led us to serve! We are so thankful to be a part of this!
