If you are just tuning in you will understand better if you read yesterday's blog post.
Where was I??
Oh yes, six and a half years ago we thought it would be a neat idea to come help out in Romania one day.
Well, we had two children before we ever had a chance to go to Romania.
We just wanted to go on a mission trip together and thought perhaps Romania, but maybe Africa or India.
In November 2008, the Lord began doing some crazy things in my life. The crazy part was nothing new, but it was just different.
I have had dreams before where I knew they were from the Lord, but it was always very sporatic. It had been a while since that had happened, but within three months I had about three or four dreams from the Lord. I would wake up in the middle of the night and know that He was trying to tell me something.
Have you ever felt like you have just heard God's voice OUT LOUD?!
Well, that was happening... a lot!
Some neat God stories we have now to share with others, but I will spare you for now.
In a nut shell, all of these dreams and things the Lord was telling me had to do with money.
The Lord was telling us to give it away!
My thoughts were, seriously God? Give more money away? We don't have much money and we still have student loans to pay off?! This makes zero sense!?!
Indeed, in made zero sense. But we obeyed and we were giving away money that wasn't ours in the first place! It was all HIS! We began giving money to the people the Lord told us to with a cheerful heart!
I began to realize that was probably a huge part of God's plan.
For us to learn to be generous and cheerful giver's with our money first, because a little later (May 2009) He was going to ask us to cheerfully give up some much more important things that I love!
Such as our house, time with family, friends, church, convenience, comfort.
I didn't know if these things would be temporary or long term.
But we did it...we left it all cheerfully because we knew without a shadow of a doubt that GOD told us to come to Romania!
to be continued....
