Happy Mother's Day!

I am doing a study on the life of Jesus. There has been a verse that sticks out in my mind and that is Luke 2:19. After the birth of Jesus it says, "but Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart." In my study I have learned that the Greek word for "treasure" is "suntereo", which means to preserve. It is the idea of keeping treasure preserved and safe. The Greek word for "pondered" is "sumballo," which means to throw or put together. It's the practice of combining several things together and acting as if they are one.

Today, I felt as if I did that...treasured and pondered.....the birth of my children, remembering their tiny bodies, watching them grow, funny memories, good moments and terrible moments....and then seeing them today getting so big so fast. There was a lot of treasuring and pondering going on in my heart! It was so fun taking a long nap with Noah this afternoon, eating dinner outside as a family, watching Steve teach Noah and Paige how to eat corn on the cob type writer or round-about style (a moment he claims "he has waited three years to do!" lol), taking them for a walk in the wagon and Steve and I were all smiles as we listened and watched our two babies make each other gut laugh (by spitting on each other, seeing who could stuff their entire fist in their mouth the best, etc, etc.--Noah has taught Paige so much...we are so proud!) I love my family and I love my life that is all an undeserved gift from the hand of my Father! Children are a treasure and a gift and we are so blessed to have them. They teach me so much! It is fun to look at all of these separate little things and look at them as one big whole act of GOD that I can keep safe in my heart and remember and love forever!

It is such a treasure to relive life through the eyes of a child!

Thank you mom for all that you taught me and showed me by your actions. Showing how to love and forgive and live with integrity and grace. I can only hope and pray to have faith in Christ as much as you do! You are my hero and role model. I love you more than you will ever know! God was so good to me when He graced me with you as my mother!
